We are a boutique language school based on the Isle of Wight and our aim is to be the Island's leading provider of teaching Spanish and English as a foreign language (EFL) to adults.
We also hope to offer other languages in the future and be the provider of language learning for adults across the Island.

OUR APPROACH
HELEN COOKE
Helen is the founder of Wight Languages and with extensive experience of living and working abroad teaching both Spanish and English, she returned to the Island in the summer of 2020 with the idea of opening a small, friendly and welcoming language school.
Helen’s vision is to make language classes accessible to all adults who still want face-to-face classes and hopes to eventually have classes in several Island towns.
With a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages, as well as a Trinity CertTESOL to teach English to speakers of other languages, Helen is well-qualified to teach Spanish and English. Alongside ten years’ experience teaching both adults and children in different educational institutions, such as schools, adult education centres, private academies and online, Helen is well equipped to help people improve their language skills.
With classes in Ryde, Cowes and Newport, already operating, Helen is aiming for Wight Languages to become the Island’s premier provider of teaching Spanish and English for adults.
ENGLISH
Wight Language’s vision is to be the “go to” provider of English classes for people who speak other languages. The Island has a diverse overseas community, with many people working in the Island’s main employment areas – Tourism, Healthcare and Agriculture.

SPANISH
Spain is a fascinating and beautiful country and having lived there for several years and qualifying as a Spanish teacher, Helen wants to share her love of Spain and the Spanish speaking world, with you.
Wight Languages is now working together with a company called "Language for Fun" to bring Spanish language classes to adults in towns around the Island. We have opened more Spanish classes in Ryde, Newport and Cowes and offer different levels, from beginner* to advanced*, depending on your current knowledge and experience of learning Spanish. We aim to reach as many people as possible and give everyone the chance to start learning this popular language.

PRICES
Group Classes
The term starts in September (you can join the classes any time throughout the term) and the price of attending the course will be £150, payable in advance for the term. This includes 10 x 60 minute classes for the duration of the course, all printed materials and access to a Virtual Learning Environment for further practice and to consolidate what we learn in class. The first class you attend will be free, or a free taster class will be offered prior to the commencement of any course, with no obligation to continue.
Classes will be capped at 12 learners* to allow people to get to know each other over time and work with different people, encouraging a warm, friendly, relaxed and sociable environment for learning.
